Gothenburg Greats Golf Day

The 1999 British Open Champion Paul Lawrie hosted the sell-out Gothenburg Greats Golf Day at the prestigious Carrick golf course at Loch Lomond on Thursday 4 September. Each player had the opportunity of challenging Paul in the ‘Beat the Open Champion’ competition at the 162yds second hole.
The event was kindly sponsored by Simmons & Company International Limited, specialist corporate finance advisers to the energy industry. Nick Dalgarno, a Director of Simmons said:
"We are delighted both to pay tribute to the achievements of the Gothenburg Greats, in this the 25th anniversary of their European success and at the same time support potential sporting greats of the future. Paul Lawrie, through his excellent golf foundation, encourages a huge number of youngsters to participate in golf and our sponsorship of this event reflects our desire to see as many kids as possible participating in or attending sporting events. It complements our support of Aberdeen Football Club through our sponsorship of their Dons Day Out scheme."
This event was the penultimate one of the Gothenburg Greats 25th year celebrations. The final event will be held in early December and is exclusive to Club 83 members.
